Art & Theme Camps

berzerkatroid fire dragon
My Berzerkatroid Dragon has been in action at many local ticketed festivals around Vancouver BC. Most recently it performed during November and December 2024 at the Vancouver BC Coal Harbour weekend Christmas festivities.

Blank Slate
I have a old black touch typewriter from the 1920/30s. I propose a 10×10 space open on all sides, with a rubber white mat. In the middle would be a white table with the typewriter and card stock with yesterdays date + “Tomorrow…” written on them. In one of the corners I will have a white trash bin with a white filing cabinet next to it. People have a choice to keep, throw away, or leave page for others to read. Underneath the table fanning out will be different size cube lights to give the space dimension and visual appeal. I will also try to have a overhanging solo light above the table. In addition, I will use a label maker to print out some pertinent quotes from the literary and movie world and hide them for people to find among the set.

BooMBoX RoBoT
The Boombox Robot Automata is a pre-programmed automatic audio-visually orchestrated automaton experience. It consists of a mash up of the emblematic vintage boomboxes and mashed up in such a way as to form the archetypical robot shape made mobile by low rider equipment. No boomboxes, ghettoblasters or stereo components were harmed in the construction on the Boombox Robot and are fully functional in the final sculptural form. This year the B.R.A. and uses pneumatic actuators and airbags to create a kind of random movement, improviational, freestyle dance moves as it moves it matches with whatever can be heard playing at the carnivalesque festival.

Camp Cambrian
Immerse yourself in the ocean of the ancient Cambrian era of Earth 500 million years in the past, a world both familiar but also full of alien possibilities!

CERN in the Forest
The CERN in the Forest Science Hub is a collection of interactive science projects to tickle the brain and give us a chance to learn something new about the physics of the world around us! Check out projects like the levitating water fountain, plasma sphere, playtronica chladni plate, and more!

Deferrent Circles

Fire orchids
It might be cold and rainy, but at least we can burn this time of year. Come warm up by the fire. Maybe roast a marshmallow. Just don’t light your fun fur.

Frogberto
Meet Frogberto, and his Froglorious Frogloryhole! Pet his soft butt for good luck! Admire his handsomeness and the confusing dexterity of his tongue. Swallow his spawn (to let them to grow into more mini-Frogbertos in your stomach?)… Or receive another sweet Frogift to remember him by.

GloFleet
Will be bringing my GloBattleship but more grids so more ppl can play. Set up a small GloGolf course where the glow puck is your ball and you are shooting at greens (grids) along a course illuminated on the floor. GloBingo involves teams trying to create the callers game board designs by shooting pucks at their grids and filling the squares with cube lights.

Glowup Darkwads! 2X
A self contained station for painting faces with UV reactive makeup, that also glows in the dark.

Interwoven
The installation has two main elements: a central podium for user interaction, and a large screen showcasing mesmerizing visuals. At its heart, the podium is equipped with a Kinect camera and a MIDI controller featuring 16 touch pads, each tied to a unique artistic tradition or motif from around the world. Participants can combine prompts such as Celtic Knotwork, Japanese Ink Wash, or Aztec Codex to generate vivid, AI-generated imagery that fuses cultural aesthetics into new hybrid forms while still celebrating the unique qualities of each form. Hand gestures captured by the Kinect allow users to sculpt the movement and energy of the piece, while six dials control rhythm, light, and texture. With over 65,000 unique prompt combinations, Interwoven is an endlessly transforming tapestry that celebrates a future where our unique differences come together to create something more beautiful than we ever could alone.

Luminaria
Through projection and reflection, the piece transforms space into a dynamic experience — where 3D shapes became a canvas for light which interacts with surfaces, and viewers become part of the composition itself. It invites exploration and interaction, blurring the line between observer and participant. Fun fact: as Brazilian-Canadian artists we chose “Lumaria” as the name of the art piece which means Lamp in Portuguese.

Luminosity

Mahjong
A cozy cultural lounge where music, games, and creativity flow together. Our camp blends the rhythm of mahjong, the craft of origami, and the serenity of a kung fu tea ceremony, all under the glow of lantern light and chill beats from our DJ booth.

Mountain Art Car
Build an art car in mountain shape, with climbing wall and dj stand.

Pink Torpedo
My experience with the Burning Man community has allowed me to experiment with a wide range of interactive art projects which has been a lot of fun. Interactive and kinetic art is an extreme challenge, since the odds are high that the art will be damaged or destroyed as participants climb it and play roughly with it. Often a project will be designed to resist all possible punishment but in the actual deployment unthought of modes of failure happen as large numbers of excited users attack an installation.

Prosthesis: The Anti-Robot

Red Light District Dance Box
Interactive dance box to jump up on and dance / show off your outfit.

Reflections Pane and Simple
Step into a world of infinite reflections! Gaze within and immerse yourself in a world of shifting glowing shapes and the playful possibilities of geometry. Touch, twist, and discover new perspectives with every reflective angle.

Slack City
Tensetgity spacenet structure – the same sculpture that was installed in Slack City at the 2025 What If festival. Up to 5 people can climb on, chill out, relax and experience the space. The space net at the top of the sculpture is made from neon cord to flouresce in blacklight. Incidentally I am looking for a long term home for the sculpture. Would love suggestions! If you have any, ask to get in touch with Chris.

Snailed It!
Snailed It! Come laugh, clap, or sing to the adventurous snail! Embracing childhood wonder, this snail, made of child’s toys, dreams of speed and adventure.

The Cottage
The Cottage returns as an immersive interior alive with lore, artifacts, and interactive experiences that spark connection. Step inside to uncover hidden stories, playful surprises, and a cozy refuge where curiosity and community intertwine.

The Heart Throb
A playful and spiritual homage to the Heart and the delightful flirtations thereof… in a time when we need it soooo much!” An intimate yet open space to connect both synchronously and asynchronously. Take a load off and deeply connect with the heart. Write a note to a crush. Feel your heart beat.

The really lost penguins
When the world outside seems large and chaotic and a moment of peace is needed, cozy up in our chill dome with yourself, with a friend, or make some new ones. Inside you will be welcomed to lay down in soft plush while you gaze upwards upon a disjoined but beautiful reflection of you in this moment of time in the yesterday’s tomorrow we are experiencing here. Take a few calming breaths, or some time to deeper connect with oneself or with others. This today will never be a today again, but there will be more yesterday’s tomorrows to come. Enjoy each and every moment in them.

The Salon of Sparks
Stories, connection, and conversation that ignite creativity. Step inside The Salon of Sparks, a cozy, living-room-style installation where conversation is the art and connection is the spark. Created by a collective of seasoned burners, this space invites you to sit and share stories, ideas, and laughter that keep our community’s creative fire alive. The Salon offers newcomers a warm introduction to Burning Man culture through dialogue and storytelling, while giving experienced burners a place to reflect and reconnect. Cue cards and conversation prompts ignite discussions on the Ten Principles, consent, creativity, and community. Here, stories are passed on through spoken word and carried forward in the memories of those who listen. Adding a playful twist, the hosts appear as “Spectators,” cheeky and self-aware guides wearing their VIP passes and vintage burner swag. Their humor reminds us that participation, not status, is what keeps the sparks flying. Come pull up a chair, draw a card, and join the conversation. Every voice adds another spark to the fire.
