Participate!

Like any Burning Man event, Dustcovery is most rewarding when experienced as a participant rather than a spectator, so we invite you to get involved. Read on for our many opportunities to participate, from bringing an art project to volunteering your time during the event.

Volunteer at Dustcovery!

Yesterday’s Tomorrow invites us to reimagine the future through the lens of the past. Together we create a playground of creativity, innovation, and wonder – not as nostalgia, but as a blueprint for the future we dare to build together. And what better way to build together than volunteering?

Volunteer shifts are available from Friday, November 14 through Sunday, November 16, with opportunities before, during, and after the main event. You can help with setup, transport, door, acculturation, activities, volunteer hub, or teardown – there’s a role for everyone! Most shifts are short to allow you to still enjoy the event.

Dustcovery is 100% volunteer run and everyone, including our producers, buys a ticket. Come embrace Burner principles by GIFTING your time, PARTICIPATING in Dustcovery in a meaningful way, and displaying COMMUNAL EFFORT to help bring this thing to life!

If you have any questions, email dustcovery-volunteers@gvias.org.

Silent Disco DJ callout

DJ CALL OUT 🚨 ✨ 🚀

Howdy out there to all the beautiful cosmic Dustopians. Silly Hat Society is extremely pleased and excited to be hosting the silent disco stage this year.

We’ll have almost double the headsets available for everyone to groove to. Now we’re looking to book some stellar intergalactic disc jockeys to send us into another galaxy.

Please email us with what genre you’d like to play and send a link to a mix online, DH page, etc, so we can easily listen to.

Also one of the three DJ booths will be all Vinyl! If you’re a ceritified groove rider that lives life at 33 and 45 rotations per minute let us know if you’re interested in playing. No online mix required to apply. We’ll be using 2 tech 12s mk2 with a DJM 700 mixer. Open to other mixers if someone would like to bring something else. We can provide pick up and storage of your records during the event and return them if you’d like.

The 2 other DJ booths will both be using a Pioneer RX3 all in one. Playing off a USB stick is ideal but can accommodate a laptop using Serato or Rekordbox software only.

We’ll be accepting applications until 6pm on Oct 26th.

Selected DJs and back up DJs will be contacted by 9pm on Oct 28th.
